One of the most inviting things about the weather being nice is to be able to extend our living space outside of the house and into the outdoors. Here are some helpful tips on how to enjoy your outdoor space even more!
1.Create a Conversation Area
Treat your outdoor space just like your living room with seating to have conversations with family and friends. Include personal touches and decorations that you love and enjoy. Of course, keep in mind your space if it’s covered you can even add rugs and fun pillows and if not you can find lots of rain resistant items. A budget saving tip is to buy outdoor furniture at the end of summer when everything is being offered at great deals.
2. Light It Up
The most enjoyable part of the day for an outdoor space is at night when the heat of the sun has faded. Their is so many fun ways to light up an outdoor space now from solar powered string lights to deck lights and gas fireplaces. Lighting can change the entire atmosphere of your outdoor living space and it’s a place you can be a little more fun then say your living room.
3. Naturel Elements
Simply adding a few natural elements makes your outdoor space more inviting. From simple plants to natural furniture all the way to the elaborate planning of fire and water elements for a spectacular outdoor setting.
4. Keep The Bugs Away
Even if you have the best outdoor space around if it’s filled with mosquitos and bug bites it won’t be enjoyable. Here is a great DIY all-natural bug repellant with the bonus of it looks pretty.

– 1-2 Lemon Wedges
– 1-2 Lime Wedges
– A couple sprigs of Rosemary
– Water (fill the remainder of jar with water)
– Active Ingredient: Lemon Eucalyptus oil (7-10 drops)
– Floating Tea Candles & Mason Jars
You can find Lemon Eucalyptus oil for a few dollars at Amazon and I was able to pick up floating tea candles for about 50 cents a piece at Michael’s craft store.
5. Size Doesn’t Matter
Even if you have the smallest of outdoor spaces if you incorporate these tips it can still be your enjoy outdoor oasis. You can scale all of these ideas into something that works for your space and your budget. Get creative and enjoy your outdoor living space!
